Né en 1979, à Rennes, Samuel Perche débute une première carrière professionnelle en tant que vidéaste pour le théâtre avec Bruno Geslin, puis comme comédien pour le théâtre, le cinéma et la télévision, notamment dans la série La vie devant nous pour TF1.
En 2013, il s’installe à La Réunion et intègre l’École Supérieure d’Art. Il obtient son diplôme en 2017, année où il présente également sa première exposition personnelle de sculpture monumentale @Corpus dans la Galerie du TEAT Champ Fleuri, à St Denis, La Réunion.
Artiste gay et queer, son univers plastique est une exploration de la figure et du corps masculin, de la culture gay au travers de ses nombreuses représentations classiques et contemporaines. Comment le corps de l’homme peut être objet de désir – ou emblème de lutte – dans une époque où les identités sexuelles et de genres interrogent les fondements de la société hétéronormée et réfutent le pouvoir de la masculinité blanche dominante ? Il cherche à infecter les représentations classiques du corps, à flouter les frontières de la réalité de la chair et de l’anatomie, pour révéler – enfin – l’intimité d’un désir communautaire, comme un nouveau paradigme. Il convoque et s’inspire tout autant de Robert Mapplethorpe, de Grindr que de photographies personnelles. La sexualisation de l’identité sexuelle devient identité picturale. Activiste LGBTQIA+, il préside l’association réunionnaise Requeer pendant trois ans et participe à l’organisation de la 1ère Marche des Visibilités LGBTQIA+ de La Réunion. Il participe activement, au sein de l’association OriZon, à l’ouverture du Centre LGBTQIA+ de l’océan Indien en 2021.
Born in 1979, in Rennes (Brittany), Samuel Perche began his first professional career as a videographer for the theatre with Bruno Geslin, then as an actor for the theatre, cinema and television, in the TV series La vie avant nous for the french / first channel in particular.
In 2013, he moved to Reunion, a French overseas territory, where he joined the Art school. He graduated in 2017, and presented his first personal exhibition of monumental sculpture @Corpus in the Galerie du TEAT Champ Fleuri, in Saint-Denis de La Réunion.
A gay and queer artist, his plastic universe is an exploration of the male figure and body, of gay culture through its many classical and contemporary representations. How can the male body be an object of desire – or an emblem of struggle – in an era when sexual and gender identities question the foundations of heteronormative society and refute the power of dominant white masculinity ? He seeks to infect classical representations of the body, to blur the boundaries of the reality of flesh and anatomy, to -finally- reveal the intimacy of a community desire, as a new paradigm. He calls forth Robert Mapplethorpe and Gindr, who, like personal photografs, inspire him. The sexualization of sexual identity becomes pictorial identity.
A LGBTQIA+ activist, Samuel Perche chaired the Réunion association Requeer for three years and participated in the organization of the 1st LGBTQIA+ March in Réunion. As a member of the OriZon association, he actively participated, in the creation of the Indian Ocean LGBTQIA+ Center in 2021.
