Tadig
Acrylic on raw cotton canvas
120 x 90 cm
2023, Brittany
In Breton, Tadig means “Father”. This painting begins a series of “family portraits” of the chosen gay family, a kind of pictorial House.
Pinks and blues playfully build shadows, and the canvas reserves offer restful spaces where we can take refuge. Her imposing breasts evoke both hypermasculinity and the mother's breast.
My painting is as political as it is poetic, as intimate as it is universal, as creative as it is deconstructive: the expression of a gay identity in motion, in a desire to repair the traumatized collective imagination.
