Acrylic on raw cotton canvas

The first name Gurvan comes from the Celtic terms “gur” and “wan”, meaning “more” and “thrust, assault” respectively.
My painting is as political as it is poetic, as intimate as it is universal, as creative as it is deconstructive: the expression of a gay identity in motion, in a bid to repair the traumatized collective imagination. The male anatomy becomes the playground for pink and blue colors, symbols of gender stereotypes. The gay body is fantasized, and its nudity becomes a pictorial motif. His desire becomes a pretext for narrative. The paint sublimates the almost atrophied, sweaty muscles of this ultra-virile body.
