Dennis
Acrylic on raw cotton canvas
80 x 100 cm
2022, Reunion Island
Dennis was one of my lovers. He had just fallen asleep when I felt like painting him.
Deep blues mingle with fiery tones to evoke the duality of tranquility and agitation, that moment afterwards when the body relaxes, content. The body is painted like a landscape. The eye is invited to lose itself in nature, revealing the intensity and ardor of desire. The gesture is lively. Layers of color are superimposed to create volumes and a depth in which abstraction comes to the fore. Raw cotton canvas appears here and there.
